Somerset Home Magazine Review

7 Aug

I picked up this magazine thinking about how much I love making my own home decor – that this magazine may just be the inspiration I need to keep my creative brain going. My first moment of weakness towards this magazine was when I saw the price: $14.99

I bought it anyways thinking this may be just what I need and I can’t even think about the price right now – I just need to find the perfet inspiration.

The cover that this magazine is made out of feels amazing, the amount of pages are almost book worthy! The pictures are large, bright, and give you a good sense of detail about the items they are showing.

Unfortunately this particular magazine didn’t really grab me when I opened it. I found myself just quickly flipping through it and not finding many things that intrigued me enough to keep reading. I did find one or two projects that I wanted to try but more in my own style then the way they had shown on.

The way that they explain how to do the projects isn’t nearly as well laid out as Better Homes does theirs. For those of us who are more visual – this book leaves you wanting more pictures and easier to read explanations!

I was overall a little¬†disappointing¬†by this magazine but also a little hopeful. Every couple of pages they have a page of 100s of more magazines! So while this one didn’t find a home in my list to consider subscribing to – I now have a larger list of magazines I’m ready to review :)

For $79.99 you can get 5 semi-annual or annual magazines and receive a $20 gift card. So basically $59.99 a year 5 different magazines which comes to about $12.00 a year for one magazine subscription. It’s not too bad if you break it down but that’s the only option you get unless you want to buy one magazine at a time and save $3.00

I give this magazine a 2.5 out of 5 stars although I’m not giving up on this magazine yet. I think this company might have different magazines that I’d love.

  • 3 points for ideas & inspiration
  • 3 points for easy how to and guide steps
  • 3 points for exciting pictures & fun reads
  • 2 points for the amount of issues
  • 1 points for price.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love Always,

J
