Nail Wall Art

2 Jan

My first project for the new year! I made this gem for my mother’s library (opesopinions) as her Christmas gift and have been dying to share it! Of course I needed to wait until she got it first ;)

I got the idea off of pinterest! This picture to be exact:

So I grabbed my handy Dad and we got to work! We found some awesome weathered wood, cut it into three pieces, built a backing, and attached the boards to it.

We then painted it with a weathered gray paint and smoothed over some white (taking a wet cloth and dabbing it to make it look faded).

After letting it dry I printed out the letters I wanted to use for my mom’s library, cut them out, and lined them up on the wood. My husband took a drill and pre-drilled the holes around the words.

We then nailed them in and wrapped them with yarn!

I absolutely love how it turned out and will hopefully be making something similar for my craft room!
