Martha Stewart hates me ;)

21 Oct

After reading the first 50 pages of The Accidental Mother  by Rowan Coleman I am definitely getting this book! I am excited to see what happens next!

I have spent some time today doing some beading for Martha Stewarts Encyclopedia of Crafts but I’ll just go ahead and let you know that once again her instructions are seriously dissapointing. I feel like she doesn’t exactly want you to know how to do but for you to figure it out on your own and that makes me really glad that I didn’t purchase this book. What’s the point of getting a book to show you how to do things if it’s not going to really show you? My first try was completely unsuccessful so I’ll check back when I actually figure it out. I used to make the bugs out of beads and string when I was a little kid and the string is so much easier than using wire .. I am trying to figure out the importance of her using wire instead of string. My guess is it lasts longer but we’ll see if I can even get one done. If not I’m going back to string 😛

I think I am going to take a break, eat some lunch, then try to go back with a fresh mind. We’ll see how that goes 😉

Love Always,

J

I dont bead. But I do Knit, and like your beading adventures with MArtha Stewart, I also follow a guide book to teach me the basics on how to knit since no one’s ever taught me to do so. And I think, i seriously think, MArtha Stewart and other DIY-book writers write the same way you described Ms. Stewart in this post. It’s crazy and frustrating but, if that picture above is how your work will turn out, looks like we’ve done far better jobs from the confused beginners we were, right?
    😉

    good luck!

Haha I am so glad someone can sympathize with me! I think after I teach myself all this I need to make my own book on how to actually make stuff instead of generally how to make something and you can figure it out from that 😉

You are right though, adventually after a couple of tries I figure it out whether I follow the directions or do it my way!

      Thanks 😀

Yeah I am definitely going to be using the previews to determine whether I am going to read something or not! I zoomed through it so fast because it was interested!! (and it E was napping haha)
