Okay so I’ve done a ton of posts on prioritizing my life, making lists that work, starting each day fresh, getting rid of the clutter, saying No to things that aren’t important. Well here’s one about Balancing – because it took me until now to realize that this really is the key to my happiness!
I like to Blog – of course most of you know that by now 😉 what do I like to blog about? I don’t have one interest in particular that stands out. I like a lot of things! I also like to share as much as I can with the world about things that I do like:
Being A Wife:
Because let’s be honest without this man I wouldn’t be the person I am today! But I’m not always a wife. I’m not doing wife duties all day – even though I’m sure Brian would love for me to. There’s only so much cooking, cleaning, and waiting on him I can handle 😉 but let’s be honest, just because I’m not doing wife duties doesn’t mean I’m not his wife.
Being A Mom:
You can’t beat being a mom! Especially with someone who’s that much fun! But I’m not always doing Mom things. As much fun as it would be to play cards, puzzles, games, and color all day if I was just a Mom I might lose my mind! I’ve got too many other things that need to be done then just making this little thing smile! But when I’m not doing Mom things, I’m still considered this little sunshine’s Mom.
Crafting is one thing I’ll never stop doing. Even if I just do it for myself. I loooove to paint, crochet, sew, fix almost anything. This is my biggest hobby. Would I give up everything else to craft all day – not everything. This is the one thing I need to work hard to balance because too much of it means I’m giving up other things that are just as near and dear to my heart.
I love to read. It doesn’t even have to be a specific genre. Just being able to get away and be in a different world for a few hours is one heck of a vacation! This is something I’d never want to give up so it’s obvious I need to balance this in my time. But just because I like to read does not mean that I sit around and read all day!! Are you catching my point?
It’s about taking all those things you love and enjoying them all within a balance that makes you happy. So each day I try to fit in every single one of my favorite things. In the morning I do my wife chores, after that I play with my little girl, during nap time I blog or craft or do a little of both, dinner is family time – I get to enjoy being a wife and mom all at once, then night time I get to read. It’s a nice way to enjoy all of the things I like without feeling like one part of me is overwhelming another.
I hope you find that balance too!
