My 30 Day Challenge: Making It Work

19 Jun

Hey everyone! As most of you know with Peanut (who we have finally named Payton) on the way and the summer seeming to steal away every extra penny we have. I decided to do my own 30 Day Challenge and share it with ya’ll!

For 30 days I am not spending ANY money that isn’t a necessity (food, gas, meds, etc.). If I don’t need it, I don’t buy it! It’s as simple as that. Since we are a budget friendly family this is not something too new for me but with each paycheck comes the “I don’t really need it – but I want it” purchase and I’m trying to get away from that for a bit.

For 30 days this girl is going to come up with enough to keep us entertained, crafty, organized, and happy with what we currently have. If you think about it, there are probably a few lists you could make of things you have around the house that you haven’t done or haven’t touched just because you’ve been so pre-occupied with other things. I know I do!

So if you are interested in joining me in this 30 day challenge, walk around the house, open up those closets, boxes, and drawers you haven’t touched in months and think about what you could do to keep yourself entertained for 30 days without spending any money!

Although it would make sense to make the whole family do this challenge – I’m just doing it for myself. I’m not sure my husband has any interest in it – but I do know with the boys coming into town to have a video game week/weekend and so much happening in the sports world he’ll be glued to the TV & computer so he won’t have time to spend money! That’s at least two weeks I’ve got him covered 😉

My goal is to do something, anything, even if it’s just one thing each day that involves using items I have already around the house and share it with ya’ll. They say it takes a consistent 30 days of doing something to make it a habit – let’s see if I can find enough things to entertain myself for 30 days with what I already have in this house (this shouldn’t be too hard).

If you are interested in joining in the fun – let me know! I’d love to see what you are going to do during this 30 day challenge!

This is a great idea! I think I will try this…right after I convince my husband to let me buy stuff for my next project!
