Keeping Things Busy!

21 Jul

I thought I’d have a little trouble keeping Emma busy and entertained with limited energy but that doesn’t seem to be the case!

This amazing little girl has been making her own projects left and right, creating her own “work” to do while I’m working and having a blast being an inventor!

We also got her started on ABC mouse so she has something like Daddy does and gets some computer learning time. I can already see the difference in her reading and telling me some of the new things she’s learning when she finishes.

I will say the best thing this summer has been boxes. She has had a blast turning them into trains, rocket ships, caves, and so much more. I am so thankful for such a sweet little girl and so proud of her for finding things to entertain herself instead of just “being bored” all time!

Emma The Fish

5 Jul

Emma had swimming lessons the past two weeks and I am so proud of this child! She went from being terrified of the water (anything past baby pool point) to swimming like a fish! I owe it all to my amazing Mom and Dad who helped me out with the swim lessons and Erin the amazing swim teacher because it really has made a huge difference in our lives.

Now I can’t seem to get her out of the pool πŸ˜‰ After going to the beach this year I really noticed her fear of water. She loves to play with water and in little baby pools and the tub but anything deeper than really terrifies her. We had planned on having her take lessons earlier but with moving throughout the summer we ran out of time!

This huge transition she has made and in such a quick time has really opened up my eyes. My little girl is growing up and I couldn’t be more proud!

Outdoor Fun!

29 Jun

It’s been such nice weather these past few days but with my workload on high I’ve had a hard time getting outside to play with Emma. Luckily we got some extra time and Lexi decided to join in on the fun!

photo 2

My little guard cat was keeping a watchful eye on Emma while she was making her masterpieces!

She also got a little lounge time as well πŸ˜‰ We also got some time to play in the pool. Chalk and water a GREAT ways for some free entertainment. We already hadΒ the chalk this go round but I plan on attempting to make our own chalk at some point! #30makeitwork

This girl loves her pool time, but she also loves her lounging time! As you can see she spent the entire time “watering” the deck since it’s soaked πŸ˜‰

photo 2

She told me her picnic table was too dirty and needed a wash so I pulled out some soap and a sponge and let her have a hay day with that!

So proud of my little helper! Also proud of us for enjoying the things we already had instead of buying something new. Who says you can’t have fun with things you already have?

I See Sea Shells!

21 Jun

While we are at the beach for our vacation, Emma picked up a serious amount of seashells! She found some awesome ones that had little holes in them that were perfect to make a seashell necklace and we decided to do that for our craft this week that didn’t cost us anything since we had everything on hand!

photo 1

I laid out some newspaper (since they were still sandy!) and let her pick through which ones she thought had a good size hole to put through the string.

photo 2

The string kept unraveling so I used a little glue to keep it together to make it easier on her to thread through the holes.

photo 3

It didn’t take her long to get started and then she was on a roll!

photo 4

We sized it and knotted it and she now has a great memory peace from our trip!

Obviously we had a lot of left over seashells she we decided to put them in a vase we had to keep and I’m excited to have an extra home decor item to add to our beachy themed things!

And the trip begins!

We are so excited for a week at the beach and cousin Abi’s wedding! Let the trip begin!!

Emma’s Piggy Bank

15 Aug

The day I painted my corner cabinet I decided to let Emma enjoy a little painting too!

I set her up on the tarp next to me with everything she needed and paper towels just in case! I think I had to remind her like ten times that it was okay to get messy with this project! (My clean little child!)

She fell in love quickly. She has always been a creative child but painting is something she hasn’t done before so I wasn’t sure how it would go.

It’s like she knew exactly what she was doing before she even started! She’s a natural πŸ™‚

Before she got to the end of the piggy she had run out of red (which is her most favorite color these days) she realized she could use other colors and the glitter too!

We set it out to dry with Mommy’s furniture and then brought it inside for display πŸ™‚ She excitedly put a few of Daddy’s “Monies” in the piggy and shook it with pure joy.

One little piggy equaled about an hour of serious entertainment! This was too much fun!
