Addiction: Blogging vs. Living

15 Jun

What happens to an addicted blogger decides to live without technology for a period of time? (Note I still had my phone – I just limited my time on it)

  • The first few hours you are having mini anxiety attacks wondering if you are going to make it and you might even log back in just to see if everything’s okay.
  • The first day you spend twitching wondering if you have any views or your followers are mad because you haven’t posted but then say “oh yeah it’s only be 24 hours they probably don’t care”.
  • The second day you are seriously questioning your decision to stay off it and think all of your followers are going to hate you, leave, never come back, unsubscribe, and shake their head thinking “another one bites the dust”.
  • The third day you wake up wanting to just check it once – that’s it, then you’ll be okay for the rest of the day you promise.
  • The fourth day you get an email from a blog on your phone that you are subscribed to and shake your head wishing you were as awesome and dedicated as they were.
  • The fifth day you swear you won’t look at your blog or even open your iphone app!! (which at that point wasn’t a problem for me because it kept crashing grrrr)
  • The next few days you find things to keep you busy like reading an actual book instead of your PC downloaded Nook or other blogs or spending some quality time outside!
  • The last few days you are sitting around thinking, wow I should totally write a blog post about this and take a picture so they can all see!!!
  • The very last day you are overflowing with things you want to blog about, don’t know what to start with, and if you weren’t going to be made fun of you’d jump up and down with glee that you’ve made it this long and will be back to blogging in no time!!!!!
  • The last few hours, you are sitting next to the computer, staring at it beating yourself up about the fact that all you want to do is LOG ON RIGHT NOW!
  • The last ten minutes, you have up until now kept yourself busy with mindless miscellaneous tasks around the house and you are seriously at your breaking point with excitement and anticipation.
  • The moment you log on – it’s like a breath of fresh air. YOU ARE BACK BABY!!
  • After you write and submit your post you click on your view stats every minute to see if your followers are going to come back or hate you forever!
Thanks for coming back πŸ˜‰

Working Mom: Naptime = Mommy’s play time!

2 Mar

Both girls are down for a nap and P will probably be up around 2:30-3:00 and E around 4:00 so that gives me almost two hours of mommy play time πŸ™‚ Of course my play time requires a lack of noise I still enjoy every second of it!

Today I am debating on reading a book or crocheting but since I finished Crafty Superstar by Grace Dobush I have been super pumped about being extra crafty! Let me tell you if you are planning on being crafty and selling your craftiness even if it’s just for fun money or an income this book ROCKS! I had a read a review of it from a blogger that I love to follow and she raved about this book. Well she was spot on!! This book gives you all the details, do’s & dont’s, and encouragement that you need. If you have an extra couple hours I would read this! I bought it on my Nook, realized that there were worksheets and stuff you could use (which I always use and end up needed to keep me organized) so I went to Borders bought it, skimmed over what I had already read and finished it in a matter of hours. Love it and I am keeping it!! It pretty much has given me an idea of what I need to do, in what order, and key things to look into. I now have a budget, a year plan, and some serious goals.

Let’s just say I have three scarf’s done and about 27 to go!

Well I better get off here and start crocheting before my play time is over πŸ˜‰

Books: Love my Nook!

14 Feb

I just downloaded a book that I saw a review on and am SUPER excited about reading it. You can find the review here: http://funkyfeisty.wordpress.com/2011/02/08/crafty-superstar-book-review/

I’ve sort of pushed my reading aside for painting but I also added a few sample books to see if they are worth purchasing so I might just have a few book reviews in the near future. That is if I can keep up with reading once I start taking care of the girls πŸ˜€

Here’s a preview of the samples I bought and I’ll let you know if the thirty pages get me excited enough to buy them!

Let’s hope these samples get me back into the reading mood πŸ˜‰

The Reason

2 Jan

I realize I have been MIA but my excuses are good πŸ˜‰

After holiday plans and remodeling our living room I am back on track! B designed a built-in entertainment center that he wanted andΒ him and my dad got to work and made it happen. It’s crazy that it looks EXACTLY like B’s drawing to the T. We owe my dad huge, not only is he an amazing designer, but he amazes me on his building skills too. This is probably why I have always been super excited when it comes to designing and crafting things. He always took my picture and made it come to life. He see’s the thought that I have and finds a way to make it reality. I love this man.

Well here’s how it turned out:

It turned out so great! As you can see B is already enjoying it playing video games πŸ˜‰

And now that things are settling back down I’ve gotten to play with some of my new toys like my new paper-cutter!

And I bought loads of paper at Sams Club

And some at the craft store

And tried it out!!

I also got to finally frame and hang up B’s stuff

And organize E’s toys

I am loving all the extra room now that the TV and video game stuff has its own place!

Next on my list to do is finish my first book on NookΒ that B bought me for Christmas, work on T’s blanket, make a window seat cushion, throw pillows, new curtains, and a few other things πŸ™‚ This year is going to be seriously crafty!

Happy New Year!!

Love Always,

Nook Idiot

I had previously posted about Barnes and Nobles free downloadable eNook that allows you to read books from your computer. Super cool and I loved it. Now that I actually downloaded a few books.. they aren’t showing up on my library and I AM TOTALLY not okay with it. Maybe I am not all that brilliant but whats the point of downloading this little thing if I can’t read any books? (except for the first sample I got) Pretty disappointed so if anyone has any clue on how to use this thing I would greatly appreciate it.
