Keeping Things Busy!

21 Jul

I thought I’d have a little trouble keeping Emma busy and entertained with limited energy but that doesn’t seem to be the case!

This amazing little girl has been making her own projects left and right, creating her own “work” to do while I’m working and having a blast being an inventor!

We also got her started on ABC mouse so she has something like Daddy does and gets some computer learning time. I can already see the difference in her reading and telling me some of the new things she’s learning when she finishes.

I will say the best thing this summer has been boxes. She has had a blast turning them into trains, rocket ships, caves, and so much more. I am so thankful for such a sweet little girl and so proud of her for finding things to entertain herself instead of just “being bored” all time!

Emma The Fish

5 Jul

Emma had swimming lessons the past two weeks and I am so proud of this child! She went from being terrified of the water (anything past baby pool point) to swimming like a fish! I owe it all to my amazing Mom and Dad who helped me out with the swim lessons and Erin the amazing swim teacher because it really has made a huge difference in our lives.

Now I can’t seem to get her out of the pool 😉 After going to the beach this year I really noticed her fear of water. She loves to play with water and in little baby pools and the tub but anything deeper than really terrifies her. We had planned on having her take lessons earlier but with moving throughout the summer we ran out of time!

This huge transition she has made and in such a quick time has really opened up my eyes. My little girl is growing up and I couldn’t be more proud!

The Summer I Turned Pretty

11 Jul

Book Review of The Summer I Turned Pretty – by Jenny Han

Barnes & Noble Overview

Some summers are just destined to be pretty

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer — they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

My Review

Every summer I look for a series of young adult easy fun reading and my mom passed this one along to me knowing I would love it! I’ve never read a book by Jenny Han before but I was definitely pleased! She takes you on the journey of a young teenager and the summer she had always dreamed of having. You get to know her connection with her “summer family”  by chapters that are dedicated to showing past life stories in between this summer’s chapters. It’s really easy to follow and Jenny Han does an amazing job of showing you what it’s like to live life for the summer! Now that I’ve finished this book – I am on the the next 😀

This book is a 5 out of 5 stars!

Thanks for stopping by,

Love Always,

J
